Thread Crochet Help

Just found this board and I think it's awesome.

 

I've just tried thread crochet for the first time this weekend. I'm hooked. I've made a few bookmarks for a swap that I'm in and now I would like to ask you ladies what do you use to stiffen the crochet. The bookmarks are really pretty but they're twisting around too much. Congrats on your love of thread. I too love working with thread.

 

I bought some spray "stiffener" at the local AC Moore. I would wet it completely and then pin it down to block it. Then I'd spray it. It was enough to give it some structure but not make it hard as a rock, it still have give and was soft.
