Plastic containers

Okay my question is I have several little plastic containers that rice pudding or something came in and I wanted to crochet around the tops and make little trinket purses or whatever. My only problem is that the printing on the outside. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to cover that up?

Can you use white craft paint on them?? A couple of coates would cover the writing I would think.

Now there is a couple of good ideas. Thanks guys, now I will have to decide which one to use. Who knows maybe I will try both. I will keep you posted.

Hi,

Crochet some fabric in different stitch patterns using crochet thread, paint the containers different colors for the background effect and glue the crocheted fabric on. You can also apply glue and wrap yarn around the container.

If it were me and there's absolutely no way to remove the writing on the container, I would use contact paper/adhesive paper to cover it up. Painting it may cover it up but the problem is that the paint may flake off or get scratched up/off.

Depending on the writing sometimes a Magic Eraser -the white sponge thing- will work to rub it off.

I think Krylon came out with spray paint for plastic. It's like $4 a can.

Try nail polish remover (acetone) it'll often remove all kinds of paint/ink off of things.
