crochet entrelac?

Hiya,

 

I started making another garterlac dishcloth the other night, and got to rethinking, as I did the first time I made one, that it would be possible to recreate the basic entrelac pattern in crochet.

 

I have taken a stab at it, sworn lots, frogged more and it might be workable. I was wondering if anyone else had thought that it might be doable in crochet, whether anyone has tried it. I think I am going to have to start again, but I'm not sure. Perhaps make the three triangles individually first, then crocheting them together.

 

Anyone tried this? perhaps even willing to have a go at trying it? It will be interesting to see if I can get it worked out (without having to resort to doing in individual sections and sewing them together )

No, I hadn't seen that, thanks! I was starting it differently and with a regular hook.

I have been watching 2 auctions on ebay for entrelac. (I can't post link...I might bid...don't want the competition! LOL!) But on the other hand...maybe I don't need those patterns with the directions from the other link! Thanks for posting it!
