Need help with pattern instructions!

Question

What do you think this means?:

Inset hook in sp between the 2 strands of first sc of row below (not under loops at top of sc), work 1 sc (sc worked in center of sc), continue to work sc in center of each sc to end.

All I can figure is that it means to work a sc into the back loop? I've never seen this wording before and can't figure out what to do!

Thanks!

Ok, it appears to me that they are telling you to go between the vertical strands made by the sc on the row below. Just work the stitch in the middle of the sc itself not the horizontal loops.

Was that confusing enough. Hope someone else can word it better.

Sorta like a front-post or back-post stitch? :think

I'm doing that now with a pattern in double crochet. It's not a post stitch because you just go from front to back and YO like a regular stitch, not in front and around to the front to get the yarn. It involves sticking your hook in between the dc's (or sc's as stated) instead of on top of them.
