I am wanting to make a travel bag from crochetme! it calls for 100% cotton in DK weight. I know I read somewere on here that you could use thread of some size to equal this. Anyone know if this is true and what size it is? I still have trouble with all the size convertions.

DK weight is sport weight. If I'm not mistaken it's half the size of worsted.

 

I think you could hold two strands of fingering weight to equal sport weight.

Try Sinfonia, which is a sport weight cotton yarn that is easy to work with and reasonably priced. It comes in a lot of bright colors.
