sewing help

ok i made my first wearable kind of. It's a hooded sweatshirt, but I don't know how to sew when crocheting and i have very basic knowledge of sewing fabric. Any help would be great. I know I out right sides facing each other.........................

 

would I slip stitch through both pieces?? will that work??? can i do the same thing with the sleaves???

I like the looks of mattress stitch but you can also slip stitch the pieces together.

I just use a single stitch. A slip stitch would be good also. I use a sc, as my hand is more used to it, so I get the sewing done more quickly and slighty neater. It's up to you.

I like the whipstitch. It is quick and easy. But looking at the links sammimag posted I think I might try the mattress stitch because the whipstitch is not invisible and when joining 2 colors it shows on one side.
