Need Help with Sizing for a Plus size Poncho

I'd like to make the Martha poncho for a friend who is a plus size woman. I am not sure if the pattern as it is will fit. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Thanks so much.

Are you looking at the lion brand pattern? I had to add chains to the starting chain for my neck opening. The body of the poncho is very roomy though.

It actually didn't matter to me which pattern I'd use. If you think there may be one more suitable than another I'mmore than willing to use that one.

 

I made the Lion Brand one and actually that's just what had me wondering about the fit.

I made this for my mom, I did not increase the neck size, I just added about six rows to the pattern (I used the lion brand pattern) for my mom, she wears a 22 womens and it fits her just fine, with plenty of room to move.
