fingering weight yarn - what to make?

paperflowers

Question

I have a bagful of Bernat Baby fingering weight in blue that I bought for an adult cardigan pattern. When I realized it was going to take years, I abandoned it. I could make baby items, but I'm looking for other ideas for this color.

I'd like to use this yarn for something faster and larger gauge, maybe holding two strands (sport weight?). Any ideas?

2 strands together would be a heavy sportweight and would go much faster, maybe make some cute baby sweaters with 2 strands together. they go by super fast (i wish the sweaters i made myself were that tiny so they were done so quickly!)

I know you said something fast and larger gauge but I am working on this baby sundress in Bernat baby fingering yarn and I just started it yesterday and I am almost done with it. The Book is called "Simple Crochet for Cherished Babies" and they have awesome patterns for babies in fingering yarn and they go fast.
