Crochet for Babies...

JessieLeigh

Question

I just got my "Crochet for Babies" book in by Bobbie Matella... I'm expecting so I was real excited to get started.. but much to my dismay, either i'm retarded or there's a mistake......the first row says,

Row 1 (RS): Starting at neckline, ch 32; dc in 4th ch frmo hook (beg 3 sk chs count as a dc); *ch 1, ch 1, dc in next 2 chs; rep frmo * across, turn. (30 dc)

Okay, my prob is the "ch 1, ch 1" wouldn't that be ch 2????? or can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?? :(

Thanks guys!

Jessie

I would be guessing they mean ch 1 and the second is just a typo.

Look at the pattern pic. does it look like it starts with a (dc, ch 1) row? It is a lacy way of getting two stitches for every stitch below and is a common technique at necklines for baby sweaters.

Okay that one yeah I'm with Darski on that one I think it's a typo. It's so beautiful though. It's a nice set it has the dress, hat, panties, booties and the blanket. Oh and congrats on your soon to be bundle of joy.
