crochet blanket bunny

I am trying to start the Lionsbrand Bunny Blanket Buddy, but keep getting stuck on the first step. Is it possible to turn a Ch 3 if that's all you have on your hook? Here is how it reads:

 

Ch 3. Turn. Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Ch 2. Turn.

 

Please help so I can get on with the rest.

yup. you'll ch3 and then sc in the 2nd ch.

I finally figured out what they were doing with that dangling chain from the original ch 3... It is supposed to be a corner.

 

I figured out what they are doing but it is very hard to describe it in words other than the pattern.

 

Well, you probably have it by now.

 

One word to the wise...instead of doing that chain two thing at the beginning, do a chain 1 and put a real SC into that first stitch (well2 of course) it will pay off as you continue working it.

 

By any chance have you ever made the Grandmother's Favourite Knit Dishcloth/Blankie ? If you had done that pattern, it would help you to see what they want to make this happen. This is one of those rare cases where a pattern is easier.
