Help! Crocheted Rugs

I have someone who wants me to make her some crocheted rugs for her daughter's room and play room but she wants a rubber backing so it doesn't slip.

 

Any ideas on what I could do with that?

Craft stores used to sell a liquid latex that you could paint onto the back of handmade rugs to make them non-slip. You could look for something like that.

At the home store (like Lowe's) or carpet stores they sell rubber mats specifically for this purpose. They look like beefier versions of the stuff you buy for your kitchen shelves so your plates don't slip. They come in different sizes, you can cut them just slightly smaller than your rug.

 

I have wood floors and I use them under all my rugs and runners, they don't slip and don't stain the floors. (I have bought rubberized bathroom rugs that stained my floors so I am sensitive to that problem!)

 

Plus, your rug will be easier to clean without the backing.
