I thought you could only felt with knitting!

I had no idea that you could felt with crocheting. Is there a special stitch? And do you only use wool yarn? Please fill me in or direct me to where I can find these things out. I SOOO want to do this!!

There's a nice pattern for a crocheted felted bag in Hip to Crochet. A great little book.

 

You can use any crochet stitch, but it's best to stick with single or half double, since the shrinkage and fuzzing will pretty much blob everything together.
