Graphing help needed!

Full~O~TLC

Question

I am making an anniversary gift for my parents. I want it to have my mum's maiden name, my dad's name, and their anniversary date all centered and looking pretty - kind of like a wedding invitation on an afghan.

My problem is with the program at micrevolt. It comes out SO fuzzy :( What am I doing wrong or what can I do to make it look better.

Also, do I use sc or dc? hook size that works well....etc.

Here is my original post when I was asking for ideas. http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53464

I've never done this before - any hints, tips, shortcuts are well accepted! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! :hook

My suggestion would be to just make your background and then Write on the ghan using surface crochet

if you scroll down, you can see how she 'wrote' the heart on the background. I am a big fan of this technique... Especially when you have those fuzzy bits that you mentioned, this takes care of that and gives you a good clear line.

I'd just use the letters off the Caron ABC baby blanket and graph them to say what you want. I recently did this on a baby blanket spelling out the baby's name, Date and weight.

Here's the Caron link: http://www.crochetnmore.com/babysabcsafghan.htm

You can add any other "graphable" stuff you want once you get the main graph done. Here's the graph paper link (to print .... left side down to arr.gif

Actual size Graph Paper then pick what size and click create). http://www.tata-tatao.to/knit/e-index.html
