How do I clean and store a thread beadspread?

Question

:eek In 1959 my mother taught me to make the yellow roses for the Rose Bower Bedspread. My father was in the Army and we were in Anchorage Alaska snowed in. Its been stored since 1969. I would like to have it cleaned and stored properly, and suggestion how?

It is important to have acid free paper around it.

 

a good technique is to get a cardboard Roll such as for Christmas paper or something like that and cut it down and slice it so it fits over a hanger. That way you avoid any hard "folds" .

 

You can use the AF paper between the layers that lie over your "roll"
