There are lots of books, booklets, and patterns out there.

Here's some good patterns:

An afghan.

Some aran squares here, look for a month such as "May".

A booklet to buy. 63 Cable Stitches.

Some books with lots of different things will have one or two cable afghans or pullovers in them.

Hope that helps. :)

There are some great books with sweater patterns out there too.

Cabling in crochet is all about front and back post work, and working stitches out of order as you do in knitting.

I've made several sweaters, and find cabling a continuous delight.

I did a vest for my son which was completely cabled all the way around and the pattern basically had me front post two stitches followed by two back post stitches. It was really easy and it turned out great.

I highly recomend the books by Jane Sneeden Peever (I hope I spelled that correctly.) She does aran style sweaters using front-post stitches. Her descriptions are clear and her patterns rock!
