Help with baby sweater

I am attempting to make my first piece of clothing fo rmy daughter. I have all the parts made but now it says to sew them together. That is it. Do I use thread and do a whipstich?

 

Any advice?

You should use the same yarn you used to make the sweater. Whip stitch should work.

 

You can apparently use mattress stitch with crochet but I can't help you with that.

 

There is also a Tunisian joining that I rather like. it makes a neat join
