Has anyone made this top from Drops Design? And how do we know what kind of yarn we can substitute for the one used in this design? what weight is the yarn used here?

you need to find a yarn conversion table, there are many out there. try our reference section that AmyS made and see if there is something in there http://www.crochetville.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=134 i know someone recently linked a page where you could actually select a brand of yarn and the computer would tell you similar yarns, but I can't recall who listed it.
