ch 3 help

Question

When im using a pattern that says ch 3 before you start a row,i do and it just makes it look crappy. Like theres these big gappy holes... any advice? Im working on a set of throw pillows for my mom and i hate the way it looks :angry

You could try making only ch 2, to reduce the holes.

Otherwise, you could try making your next stitch a linked one, which will work out like this:

After making the ch3, you begin your next dc. Instead of yarning over, insert hook into the middle chain of the ch3, yo and pull up a loop (you now have two loops on your hook). Then insert your hook into the stitch below (where you would normally insert for a dc), yo, and pull up a loop. Now you have 3 loops on your hook. Finish it off like a normal dc.

This will eliminate the holes and you can continue with normal dc (or whatever stitch you are using).
