Alien fanny pack

I spent 6 months trying to win AA Hugg-a-buddies pamphlet on Ebay for a reasonable price. I finally did it and this little guy was the first thing I made. It is a child's fanny pack. First you make the fanny pack and then choose which character you put on it. I thought the alien was cute. They also have a cool looking moose and alligator, but those had more little details that I was interested in tackling this weekend.

 

 

 

 

I didn't line this one, but I think I will do that with the next ones I make. I wanted to see how all the pieces went together first. It fastens around the waist with a D-ring. The pattern called for velcro, but that didn't seem like it would be strong enough. I know with my kids, they like to pile lots of stuff into their fanny packs . I'm becoming an expert at hand sewing in zippers!!
