help figuring this out

I'm trying to figure out how to do this pattern I'm trying to avoid working two seperate pieces, which is the only way I can figure out to do it. I usually spend the time to figure out stuff myself but darnit Iwant to carry this purse around now! (that patience thing isn'tworking right now)

I would start out with a chain, sl st to form a ring and dc around increasing enough in each round to make it lie flat. Fold in half, attach handles and seam the sides and bottom. Add lining. It would take some futzing to figure out the increases... Unless one could find a poncho pattern that had the same size neck opening as the size opening you'd want for your purse......

SL.. you took the words right out of my m outh .. when i saw it .. it looked like a little poncho just sewn together at the bottom with handles.. i think it would be very simple to make in one piece...

OOH I love those hats anybody seen a pattern for the molly hat? Is it just a beret pattern ?
