ripple count?

can someone help me out with a ripple count?

 

what i'm doing is making a baby blanket with a chunky (but not bulky) yarn and am wanting a basic chain count for a ripple....

like, multiple of 7 + 3 or whatever it happens to be and then the stitch count..... dc in each of next X with 3 dc in next, then dc in each of next X, skip next X stitches.....

 

know what i mean?????

R u looking for waves or chevrons? I have instructions for each - would it violate copyright to tell u if they r coming from a book of stitches?

either... hmmmm, not sure.

 

i don't think so because it is just a stitch pattern... and not the 'object'.... but i'm not sure.:thinking2

 

i have several patterns for ripple afgahns, just didn't want to take the time and frogging to figure out the chain count for a small blankie out of chunky yarn :ideanot

rebecca, here is a Ripple Formula that should help you out.

 

Here's a simple ripple pattern if that's what you need. It seems ripple patterns either are so confusing or so simple but never inbetween. :rotfl

i love ripples and haven't had a problem with them yet... just too lazy to figure out the chain count.... how bad is that:ohdear

anyhow, i have a confession ---- i was going along just fine and happily working on this blankie while being a passenger. then, when i got out of the car, i dropped the whole (*^&%)_(* thing in a big giant mud pile. i didn't have the ripple instructions with me, and started over doing a simple shell.

 

hubby was proud of me for just cutting the thread, putting the soiled piece in a baggy and tossing it in the back of the suburban ---- where it still sits, and not throwing a huge hissy fit:mad it took a big giant breathe, though :irked
