News boy cap

Hi everyone,

 

I need either a new pattern or help with what I should have done.

I used this patternCrocheted Newsboy Cap or Beret

 

and plain old red heart thread...but it came out HUGE:bang

 

It looked more like a Regae hat, (I didn't bother with the bill after I saw how big it was.):th

 

Does anyone have any suggestions. Or a different pattern?

I love all the patterns, does anyone have a pattern for that open weaved scarf in the 2nd pattern link you posted. I have been wanting to make one like this.
