I have bought a ton of stuff from the above vendors over the years (Knitpicks is a relatively new find for me). Also, Herrschners, Mary Maxim and Annie's Attic.

 

My local LYS's are the Knitting Room (1195 Branham Lane, San Jose, CA), and the Rug and Yarn Hut (350 E Campbell Avenue, Campbell, CA) A new one I just became aware of and haven't visited yet is Comunknity (1345 The Alameda, San Jose).

Each has a web site (just Google the name, it should come back. My copy/paste on my laptop is flaky or else I'd type them, I haven't memorized them yet)

I love Maggie's Crochet, I know that some people feel she is a bit expensive, but my order is delivered right away, and I am always satisfied with my purchase....plus I ADORE her patterns!
