The free pattern for the day is a very nice granny afghan--a lot of the afghans posted on this site are difficult, but this one looks so pretty!

It does. I thought about it, but then weaving in all those ends on each round... not sure if I'm up to it. Well it does look like you join as you go instead of sewing them all together, so that's a bonus to those who don't like sewing them.

From what I could understand from skimming over the pattern, it's definitely a join-as you go. I think you MIGHT have to join the ROWS instead of the individual squares, but I don't think that would be quite so bad.
