Need suggestions !

Hi, I am planning to crochet a lightweight, summer type dress for my little Grandbaby. She is 3 weeks old. We have a very warm and muggy climate during the summer,and all the yarn I see, is just too heavy. I have used cotton thread before, but, I'm afraid of shrinking, etc. Can anyone suggest a suitable yarn or thread to me? Also, can I purchase it over the web, as we do live in a rural type of area. I have ordered a few times from http://www.knitting-warehouse.com/ and always been very pleased. Their prices are good too. They also have crochet thread at great prices.

The nicest stuff for baby summer wearables would be Bernat Cottontots. Its cool and soft and comes in lovely pastels.

u could also do thread crochet....size 10 cotton thread is very lite and airy and the patterns go pretty quick for everything i've done so far
