Labeling Laws

Brenda Stratton

Did you know that there are labeling laws you must conform to when making crochet projects for sale? The Federal Trade Commission regulates these laws, which you can read about at http://www.ftc.gov.

While this pertains primarily to the United States, other countries are adopting similar laws. Crochet projects made as gifts are exempted from the labeling laws.

I had heard about that a while back. I haven't sold anything in a while, I have a habit of just giving my stuff away, but when I did sell, I would alway tie on a little label with yarn type and care instructions.
