as we do not have any crochet magazines here in Australia (that I am able to find) I am trying to organise a standing order for one of the following publications. I really would like some feedback from you guys and gals as to which one you think is the best value for money and for patterns etc. The magazines available to me to order are:

Annies Favourite Crochet

Hooked on Crochet

Crochet

Crochet World.

Any opinions are greatly appreciated

I have subscriptions to all those magazines, and while yes, I personally think Crochet! is the best of the bunch and that the others seem to have "cheesy" patterns, it's amazing how many of those patterns I end up making...I have to say none of the subscriptions have been a waste for me...but of the 4, Crochet! is the best...also, after a fashion, many of the patterns in those magazines end up on freepattern.com. So many of the things I made from those magazines (all of them) ended up recently on freepattern.com...

I haven't looked at Annie's much, maybe once or twice, so I can't comment on it really.

I'd pick Crochet World or maybe Hooked. I don't think they're cheesy and they are things I'm more likely to make. Plus I think they do try to keep modern.

Here's a sample of CW's patterns to help you decide:
