Tunisian - reversible?

When you crochet a picture graph using the tunisian technique is the image reversible? For example in the Crochet Fantasy magazine they have a pattern using the profile of a horse and it's cream colored on one side and brown on the other. Is this how all tunisian turns out or is this a special stitch? Thanks!

The image does show on the other side with normal stitches but if they have done it in a different color they may have used a double ended technique. What does it say on the pattern?

It is a special stitch. I think in the few pages prior to the pattern, they have instructions on 3 different ways to do it. It's illusion, came from knitting, and these ladies figured out how to do it with crochet.
