I felted my first bag today ,It was a drawstrig It turned out really good.

But the strings wont draw I put the strings in before I felted it.

Any ideahs?

Sounds like they felted to the holes. The patterns I've seen have you do the strings but insert them after felting. Try moving them gently, if that doesn't work I'm not sure what to try.

I didnt use a pattern mostly I started it kind of like Deneens pattern , but just kept going around, May I will cut the draw strings and make a strap and felt it then sew it on, Do you think that will work?

You can pull the drawstring out and use a knitting needle to make the holes bigger. Once it's fulled, it won't fall apart. Always add the drawstring after fulling-use knitting needles to make the hole and wiggle them around and then add the drawstring (full it separately).

 

You can make a strap, full it and then sew it on with matching yarn.

Thanks Kathy and Deneen for coming to my rescue, I am glad it not a complete loss , because I am quuite happy with the Bag for the first time .

That's what I did for the one I made my mother, Evelyn. I had felted the bag and sent it to her for Christmas, and she decided she wanted a strap and button to keep it closed when it fell off the car seat. I made the strap, hand felted it and she's just sewing it on (and better return my chibi needle safely, lol)
