Typo in this pattern?

princsstrish

Question

I'm trying to make this shawl and it seems there is a typo - see red part below. I think it should be (2dc, ch1, 2dc) not the sc as i says. what do you think? It works either way. Thanks!

Shawl

Loosely ch 72.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across—71 sc. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 2, in first sc work (dc, ch 1, 2 dc), *sk 4 sc, in next sc work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc); rep from * across, turn.

Row 3: Ch 2, in ch-1 sp work (dc, ch 1, 2 dc), *in next ch-1 sp, work (2 sc, ch 1, 2 dc); rep from * across, turn.

Rep Row 3 until piece measures approx 58" long.

Do you have a close-up photo of the shawl? It's hard to know for sure, unless you can look at a picture of the stitch pattern itself. If a close-up is not available, I guess I'd do a few rows trying it using the sc, and compare it with a few rows using the dc, and see what kind of difference it makes in the overall appearance.

It's a Smart Yarns pattern that has been archived and no picture is available. Here is the link. I'll go forth with the 2dc, it looks fine that way, just all shells. I'm doing it in chenille and it looks nice, I did 4 rows of it and I like it.
