Help with carrying over yarn

croschet03

Question

I have just finished a part of an afghan that has letters in a bright color against a dark color. I carried the bright color for up to six stitches, but you can see it right thru the dark color. Any pointers on hinding that bright color and anchoring it in the afghan, (I have to do lettering at the top of the afghan also.) It's very frustrating.

:cheer Instead of carrying the yarn behind, make a separate ball of yarn for each area. Change colours as you normally would, then you do not have any yarns to show through.

The only time I would carry a yarn is if there is only a couple of STS to go benind.

Make sure that any yarn carried across is always carried on the wrong side of the work and crochet over it where you can.

Hope this helps with the rest of the afghan.

Have fun.
