Any tips on how to get stiff crochet yarn flowing better on hook? Or a stitch that might work best? Brought Hoooked spesso chunky and struggling to crochet with it. Tried 9mm and 10mm metal hook

When I experienced that with a chunky yarn, I bought a 10 mm plastic hook.  I found the smooth plastic made the yarn slide better over the hook.  I also loosened my tension.

Looking it up, it recommends an 8-10 mm needle so it sounds like a 10mm crochet hook is in the right ballpark.  Cotton can be harder to work with in general at any size than (for example) wool or acrylic yarn, it doesn't have any 'give'.
