How many chains in a line?

Can somebody please tell me how many chains should I make in each one of these lines?

Is there a way to calculate them correctly?

The scanned diagram was not made at a fine enough resolution to yield that detail.  I blew it up to extra-huge on my 19" monitor and I can't tell, there are no gaps just a pixelated but solid line.  All I can suggest is give it your best guess based on the measurement of spans where you can see the induvial chain-dots.
