Change shape into square

I'm making a blouse with five point star in center the shape is now pentagon would like to finish motifs in a square shape, is this possible? Any ideas would be welcomed. I've been crocheting since I was seven years old this has me stumped.

So you have a star, in a pentagon, and you want to square it off?

There are a few motif patterns that 'square the circle', that starts with a circle and just add corners with short to medium to tall to medium to short stitches.

I'm not sure about 'squaring the pentagon', but you could turn the pentagon into a circle and then square the circle.
