Belated Hello

Hi, I'm Alice. I crocheted some (v badly fitting) bootees from my first baby 5 years ago. Since then I've spent a lot of time doing amigurumi octopus for hospitals which suited my perfectionist side. Then moved to blankets which allowed me to make gifts for friends. And more recently, I've started being more selective in my materials and patterns to make sure I enjoy the making process as much as anyone might enjoy the end product.

Happy 6 year and 11 day anniversary!  And belated welcome, I think we chatted before.

Very interesting, I think the first hat I made (may have been knitted, I learned both way back in the last century  when I was still in school) was just a rectangle, seamed at the side and gathered at one end, with a pom-pom to hide the gathering.  I can see that this would eliminate the gathers at the top, clever!
