Dividers for Crocheted Baskets

Hi Everyone!

 

I am new to this site/forum, and would love to know if anyone here knows how to crochet a basket with a divider.  I make all sizes and shaped baskets, but still can't figure out how to include a center divider.  I would appreciate any information you can provide.  Thank you!  Karen

Hi and welcome!

What an interesting question.  

I think the least annoying would be to crochet the basket then the divider and carefully sew the divider into the sides and across the bottom.  I can think of ways to crochet it in, but you would be wrangling with 2 pieces of crochet with every stitch; sewing would be much faster, probably look better be and less of a pain.

You also might consider a machine- or hand-sewn fabric liner and divider.

Hi, and thank you!  I believe you are right - I haven't been able to crochet it in successfully.
