Using DMC thread size 5

Hi all, I have used DMC Petra thread size #5 with a 2 1/2mm crochet hook for over 20 years and I just love the softness and smoothness of this thread. It's hard to find this thread now in Jeddah so every year when I go to visit my sister in Florida I order 10 100gm balls from London and bring it home with me. When ever I find a new pattern I have to first see if the thread size and hook will work with the directions..... I have begun many many patterns, only to pull it out and discard that pattern   LOL I am definitely hooked on crochet!!  Dolly
