0 magiccrochetfan Posted January 9, 2015 I think it will look fine as shown in the pattern, so i would just do it like that. How exactly do you want to change it?
0 EmiHarr Posted January 9, 2015 Do you mean the ends of the long rectangle won't look nice? If so, you could add a "shell pattern", the same as done on each side, on the two ends. Does that make any sense to you? Emi HECTANOOGA ON YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/user/Hectanooga1
0 magiccrochetfan Posted January 9, 2015 Heck I don't think I would even know how to add a row even if it didn't get shorter. Jeannie, if you are serious about not being able to add a row at all, then changing the slanted edges is going to be pretty challenging I think. Did you try looking for an afghan pattern that involves this kind of staggered fan st patt? Or there there might be a runner pattern you could use. But if you want to change this pattern to a straight edge, you have to begin and end every other row with a half fan. I found a couple of similar patterns on mypicot that illustrate this, you could maybe sub one of these, or use the pattern for a guide on how to adjust yours to have straight edges. http://www.mypicot.com/2025.html http://www.mypicot.com/2004.html to get the pattern diagram, on each of those pages look where it says in blue How to follow a crochet diagram, and right after that click on the Please use this link to download pattern. here is their page on using diagrams http://www.mypicot.com/follow_crochet_diagram.html and i can post others if you need them. You can also look in your stitch dictionaries to see what similar stitch patterns you can find, they are more likely to have written directions if you need those. And your local public library should have, or can get, some stitch dictionaries for you to check out.
