Mine arent perfect, but I just wrap the yarn around my palm a LOT of times, then wrap it around the middle of the yarn and slowly slide it off of my hand and shove two pencils in it. Then I wrap the yarn on the middle tighter.. It should give a little tie type thing in the middle and two sets of loops on each side. I use the pencils as guides and put scissors through with them and snip the loops.... Confusing enough?

Honestly, buy a pompom maker for $3. Best money I ever spent was for that and another $3 for a trim tool to make fringe and tassels. I'll never cut cardboard again!!
