Glow in the dark yarn

ESTERHAZY

Question

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has tried this out yet: http://www.ehow.com/how_5941486_make-own-glow-dark-yarn.html , and if they could share their experiences doing it. I'm looking for glow in the dark yarn (obviously haha) but I couldn't really find any. I know about the discontinued Bernat yarn, which I couldn't find on ebay. Does anyone know where else I could look? Also, do you think it would work if I just soaked my amigurumi in glow in diluted dark paint? :/

Thanks!

I've never tried to make my own glow in the dark, though it does sound like a cool experiment to try.

You could always do what I plan on doing when I make the trick or treat bags for my sister's kids. It's embroidery floss but I figure that if I use a strand of that with the yarn it will give it at least a little bit of glow. I'm planning on using this.

I've seen it online but don't remember where offhand. A Google search will probably give you a lot of links. My kids used to have some glow in the dark toys when they were little. They occasionally stopped glowing in the dark. Fyi, I learned from experience that these need to be "recharged" once in a while. Just set it on the window sill during the day and let it absorb sunlight. Then they should be as good as new.
