What Stitch is This?

Hi guys!!

 

Okay in my mission to create the pattern for a horse fly bonnet I have of course hit another road block that only a very beginner like me would not understand.

 

What is this stich?? I am asking about the top section that looks to me like it is running (in the picture) up and down. Also do you see the two sections connected? Any advice on that??

Hi- I looked back to that thread we chatted in a few weeks ago where you posted the pic of the greenish hat, it that the one you are trying to make now?

 

The link I gave you was for all double crochet, the photo you had looks like it might be double crochet, then a chain or two, so I just looked in Ravelry and found this one that is free... maybe it will give you a base pattern for what you're looking for... with that open lacey net-like look. It seems like an easy pattern to follow, too.

 

Be sure to post a photo when you finish, I'd love to see how it looks.

it is all a mesh made of dc with a chain in between.  the top section is sideways to the way it was made, and the bottom section is worked off one side of it, perpendicular to it.

To add to what Magiccrochetfan said, your pic is upside down.  You can better visualize the way the stitches in the bottom of the pic (as currently oriented) were added to the other section by turning it so they are at the top.
