RH SS vs RH Classic......same?

tiniree

Question

Ok, I am making an afghan using as many bright colors as I can.  I ordered some yarn directly from RH.  Since I didn't need that much yardage, I ordered the colors I wanted in the RH Classic vs the Super Saver skeins.

I always thought the classic and SS were the same weight, etc. just that the classic was in a smaller skein?  Am I wrong in this?  I am asking because the classic yarn that was delivered almost feels like a sport weight?

Red Heart Classic and Super Saver are both (4) medium, worsted weight yarn and yes, super saver has more yarn to it so it's more cost efficient.

It seems that the the Classic ones you have, may have been weaved tighter in the factory than they should be but you can contact RH and find out directly from them.

In theory they are the same,  however lots of things can cause a variation in the grist of the yarn during the spinning process.

May I suggest you try a gauge swatch to be sure.  Or even compare the WPI (wraps per inch)
