Question

I am using this pattern to make triangle style shawls but what I really would love to do it change the center point when crocheting to a different color through out the whole shawl so the middle is one color and the rest is another.. example would be say a black shawl with a center being say white any idea how to did this? I hope what I am ask makes sense..

This is a half granny square - the center is a hole, not a stitch cluster.

If you wanted the center stripe white, you'd really have to do the 2 clusters of stitches on either side of the 'hole' in white, and the other clusters on each side of these as black.

You'd start the first row all in white - this is cluster, hole, cluster.  Join black, 1 black cluster, pick up the white and do the center bit, change to black for the last cluster.

Continue this way, adding 1 black cluster to each end each row.

You might do 1/3 of the rounds in black, then do 1/3 of the rounds in white, then switch back to the black,   You could even make it in stripes of black and white.  Either way it would look pretty.
