Little Hugs / Angel Hugs for Babies and Small Children

Hi all!

Recently I have gotten involved in doing some charity work. Little Hugs and Angel Hugs come under the same project (Woolly Hugs is the project name) but are for different hospitals who deal with babies and small children and their families.

Little Hugs are for Yorkhill Hospital in Scotland (http://www.yorkhill.org) and Angel Hugs are for the Brompton Hospital (http://www.octaviaappeal.com/).

Yorkhill Children's Foundation is the only charity that supports the whole of Yorkhill Hospital as well as related paediatric, maternity and obsteteric services throughout NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. These include the Princes Royal Hospital, the Southern General Hospital and the Royal Alexandria Hospital as well as community based children's services.

The Brompton Hospital is a specialist heart and lung centre in London complete with the second largest paediatric intensive care unit in the UK. This unit takes the sickest babies and children from all over, some transferred immediately after birth, others have become too sick to be cared for at other major hospitals and most are already on life support when they arrive. These babies and children are incredibly sick, and very sadly not all survive.

I'm posting a thread here to see if any of you would like to help by either making baby blankets (between 24" and 30") in any colour (Angel Hugs, however, are all white), or you can help by sending baby yarn of any weight. (or I can accept Paypal donations to buy yarn direct from UK vendors if anyone so wishes).

If anyone would like to help, please drop me a PM for my address info.

Thanks for reading
