Water Repellent?

Is there a way to use water repellent spray on yarn? Or some way to make the yarn not absorb so much water due to rain or snow?

I guess you could try Scotch Guard. I never really thought about it before.

I was thinking about using it on a purse I crocheted but I guess I could line it with some type of water repellent fabric. I didn't know if anyone had ever tried using it on yarn before or not. If I do try it on yarn, I will pass the results on to everyone else.

That is a wonderful question. I suppose I always chose my purses according to what I was doing so if there was a way to make my more delicate purses a bit more durable, I'm all ears!

What about that waterproof spray they sell for your shoes in the winter? I'm not sure if that would work or not.... You could also make it from the "grocery bag yarn," if that's the look you're going for.
