Needle felting??? does it work ?

I was wondering about the needle felting tools

do they work .

my friend brought a small one ; she says it does pretty good

will it do a larger item like a crocheted purse? hugs

I have only experimented with it a bit, but i would not want to do a large item by needle felting. It is a lot of work to repeatedly stab the same area with the needle(s). Also i think it might not be sturdy enough.

I only use my felt needles to add embelishments to an already felted item. I have needle felted flowers or just swirls using roving or wool yarn onto an already felted purse. You can also needle felt animals using balls of roving. Here is an example of a pair of mittens embelished with needle felting. This explains how to make an animal. If you google needle felting instructions you come up with many sites that can show you how to use your needles.

yes most needle felting tools work IF you are using "Feltable Fibers" to begin with.
