I replied to a thread and now it's not allowing me to view it. Is it wrong to share links for free patterns not on Crochetville????? I've seen others post links like that.

You might want to contact admin. We can share links here, but not to everything. The thread was likely removed because it violated the boards rules in someway.

Please send me a PM so we can talk at about the specifics of this siutation. In general,

Links to patterns are fine and encouraged, but there are some instances in which a particular link shouldn't be shared.

 

This message does mean that a thread has been voted to an archive section. Threads can need to be moved (temporarily or permanently) for a variety of reasons:

 

--someone has linked to an unlicensed pattern for a trademarked/copyrighted character

 

--someone has uploaded photos to which they don't own the copyright

 

--someone needs help with a pattern but they've included the actual pattern instructions in their post

 

--someone has included profanity in their post

 

--the thread includes political or sexual discussion

 

--people are flaming each other within the thread

 

I'm going to close this thread right now, since it's asking about a specific administrator action and those are generally not discussed on the forum (except in very rare circumstances).
