Did you get it in the The Crochet Stitch Bible by Betty Barnden?

If so, then I might have used it. I don't have my book with me to check.

I used it, or something like it as filler for a poncho I made my daugher. It's been a few years so I don't remember exactly. I made lacy squares and I think I needed some extra length to connect it so I used that trellis pattern or another one. It blended pretty well with the squares.

Either way, good luck with your new found pattern. :)

That book is such a great resource, but it's not in there, by that name anyway.

So many stitch patterns have many names, but in this case by looking at patterns, it seems that many different stitch patterns are called 'trellis lace'. (even in knitting!) A lot of the crochet patterns are shawls, scarves or blankets.

In most of the google hits, it's just netting or mesh (resembles the 'arch mesh' in the CS Bible) other patterns are netting-y with other elements. Here's an example http://crochetology.net/2009/09/constructing-with-the-trellis-stitch/ But here is a different trellis lace stitch pattern (more square, like the mesh ground in the CS Bible, not offset like the arch mesh), http://crochet.about.com/od/Shawls/a/easy-trellis-lace-crocheted-stole.htm and this is the one that came to my mind initially, 'diamond trellis' http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Crochet/Projects/AfghansThrows/SB300-003+Diamond+Trellis.htm

If you know the number of stitches in the pattern repeat, you can adapt stitch patterns into anything you want. I found a stitch pattern in a sweater pattern that I used to make a blanket, for example.
