Looking for crochet waistcoat/vest pattern

PuppyMom

Question

My girlfriend wants me to make something close to the photo in this link:

http://www.bonton.com/shop/women/oneworld-crochet-cropped-shrug-vest_413196.html

I've looked in Ravelry, but nothing seems to be quite right. I'm also a knitter, but would prefer crochet, since it matches the technique in the pattern.

Any suggestions? I do get many of the crochet mags, so if anyone remembers seeing something....or maybe some sort of granny square/motif pattern?

Thanks in advance

Based on the picture, i think there is little if any shaping there. It looks like you have a rectangle for each side of the front, then i guess the back is more or less a square. Seam these together leaving a long opening for the armholes. The drawstring waist provides the only shaping, i think.

So choose a flower square pattern and join those for the middle part. The bottom section is aligned shells and i think the shoulder is v stitches.

That's how i would do it anyway. :)
