Ideas plz for meaningful gift

for a friend of mine's mom who was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (@ an early stage) which is a devastating disease. Anyway, I want to make something that may be of comfort to her. If I stitched fast I'd make a shawl but I don't. I appreciate all ideas.

How about making her a round ripple, they make up fairly fast. You could use some real pretty colors.

Small lap ghan to keep her warm if she is getting treatment. My aunt had one when she was getting chemotherapy it kept her warm and comforted her too.

she'll love anything you give her...it doesn't have to be the hardest thing to make...something like a mile-a-minute would work up quick...
